Varun Tej’s latest horror-comedy, Korean Kanakaraju, is officially nearing the end of its highly successful theatrical run. The producers at UV Creations and First Frame Entertainment executed the project with a smart financial strategy. Furthermore, the makers sold the worldwide theatrical rights at very reasonable rates. Specifically, Korean Kanakaraju needed to recover a worldwide share of ₹12 Crore (which translates to a ₹25 Crore Gross target) to achieve breakeven.

Specifically, on Day 16 (Saturday, August 22), Korean Kanakaraju collected a tracked gross of ₹12.28 Lakhs. Interestingly, this number registered a solid 19.8% jump from the previous day’s ₹10.25 Lakhs. Meanwhile, the film maintained an 18.2% occupancy across 145 shows in 38 cities, pushing its 16-day tracked gross to ₹26.37 Crore.
Furthermore, Sunday marked the final push for the film. As of Sunday evening (August 23, 5:04 PM IST), the Day 17 live tracker shows ₹11.12 Lakhs collected so far across 117 shows at 20.5% occupancy. Consequently, with daily numbers now settling into the low lakhs, the film has practically achieved its maximum box office potential and will soon transition to its digital OTT release.
